Transition to School Summer Program

A five day, head start program for children who will be entering

grade primary this September! This program is offered during the summer months throughout Cumberland County schools. 

Primary students attending Oxford Regional Education Centre in September are welcome to attend Transition to School there

Monday July 26th to Friday July 30th from 10am till 2pm.

 

 WHAT IS TRANSITION TO SCHOOL?

Transition to School is designed to support your child and help them feel pride in their accomplishments.  The program is free and is offered during the summer months throughout Cumberland County schools.  This program gives your child an opportunity to learn in a small group setting before entering Primary. It is the goal of Maggie's Place in partnership with the Chignecto –Central Regional School Board, and PLEDGE (Partnerships for Literacy and Early Development Goals) to provide activities and materials to help your child adjust to the school setting as well as develop valuable learning skills.

POP-UP Playgroup

Maggie’s Place – A Resource Centre for Families will be offering POP-UP in Oxford.  POP-UP is a free two hour preschool playgroup for parents/caregivers and their children ages 0-6 years.  The playgroup meets weekly to create art and participate in free play, songs, stories, rhymes, and games.  Children also enjoy a nutritious snack each week.  This is a great place to meet other families in your community and have lots of fun. 

 Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30pm
