As Mayor for the Town of Oxford, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our website. Consider this a personal invitation to explore and learn more about our community.
I would like to take a moment to share with you a few things that make me proud to call Oxford my home.
Oxford is located in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia and our population is 1,190. We are just minutes off the highway and are centrally located between the two airports of Moncton and Halifax. We are known for our quaint tree lined streets and Victorian architecture. We are also recognized as the Wild Blueberry Capital of Canada, as we are home to the worlds largest processor of wild blueberries. In season, these berries grow naturally on the many fields and hillsides in the surrounding areas.
There is a range of services and amenities located all within walking distance to each other. We are also proud of our P-12 school.
There is so much to do in our community, whether it be "jamming it up" at the Capitol Theatre on a Friday night or relaxing in our downtown park. And if I may boast, Oxford offers some of the best salmon and trout fishing in Nova Scotia.
Looking forward to your visit!
Trish Stewart
